Lux Pascal Says Pedro Really Is That Good

Trans actress Lux Pascal spilled some sweet tea about her brother Pedro Pascal, saying he models authenticity.
"What makes him so fabulous is that he wears all of his humanity on his sleeve, and he doesn't hide who he is," Lux told The Hollywood Reporter of her big brother. "And I think that's refreshing, because usually we move around the world hiding who we are."
"That's the main lesson I've gotten from him," Lux went on to say. "There's no reason for me to hide who I am, right?"
Added Lux: "I'm incredibly proud. But the thing is that I've always known that he is a superstar. It's funny because people have been asking me, 'Is he as kind as we think he is?' And I'm like, 'Yes!'"
Lux chatted with THR "on the red carpet of Madrid's Platino Awards Sunday night, Ibero-America's annual film and television awards ceremony," the entertainment news outlet detailed.
Pedro has long been an outspoken ally of the trans community, and his sister in particular. Even at his own 50th birthday bash, Pedro was spotted hitting the dance floor with Lux and sporting a T-shirt emblazoned with the message "Protect the Dolls," an expression denoting support for trans women.
In an even more public demonstration of allyship, Pedro called out self-described TERF ("Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist") J.K. Rowling, who reportedly lent financial support to the organization that brought a case to the UK Supreme Court, where the Court ruled that transgender women are not legally women when it comes to Britain's Equality Act.
Pedro's critique took the form of a comment left at a video posted to Instagram by trans rights advocate Tariq Ra'ouf after Rowling took to social media to celebrate the ruling. Pedro called Rowling's post "Awful disgusting SH--" and "Heinous LOSER behavior."
Pedro has earned the sobriquet of the internet's favorite zaddy, but he's also put his stamp on beloved film and television projects, from "Game of Thrones," "The Mandalorian," and "The Last of Us" on the small screen to the big-screen epic "Gladiator II" and the upcoming reboot of "The Fantastic Four" for the MCU, not to mention smaller projects like Pedro Almodovar's 2023 short film and queer cowboy romance "Strange Way of Life."
Lux has her own work coming to American screens. Though she didn't provide details, the Chilean native hinted at two new projects that audiences in the U.S. will be seeing before long.
The actress struck a consistently upbeat note, THR detailed, saying she wasn't letting the rhetoric and legislative attacks targeting trans people distract her from her career.
"It is a difficult time, and I wish it wasn't as difficult," Lux acknowledged. "I mean, we just went through a pandemic. Can we all just chill for a while and show empathy towards one another?"
"I don't know," Lux mused, "maybe I'm too much of a romantic."
