In a twist everyone seemed to have seen coming, Lady Gaga has announced a new album to support her starring role in the upcoming "Joker: Folie et Deux."

On Tuesday, after much teasing, Gaga announced that she will be releasing "Harlequin," a 13-song album, on Sept. 27, reported Variety.

Alongside Joaquin Phoenix, Gaga will be singing "unlike anything I've ever done before" in the film musical.

However, it seems the upcoming album is only half the way to Gaga's seventh studio album. Mother Monster has apparently teased the "Harlequin" project as LG6.5, hinting that the album is not her highly anticipated LG7 but a stopover before.

"Joker: Folie et Deux" hits theaters Oct. 4, and it appears Gaga will be using the popularity of the film to catapult her into her next album's era.

A snippet of a new song from the project was also released.

Her recent "Die With a Smile" collaboration with Bruno Mars will not be included on "LG7," according to Variety. About the Joker-tastic single, Gaga said she was "finishing up my own album in Malibu" when she was asked to come to his studio to hear what they were working on.

"It was around midnight when I got there and I was blown away when I heard what he had started making," she said. "We stayed up all night and finished writing and recording the song."

And if the music for the film is this good, one can only imagine just how much work and care she has put into LG7.
