Out comedian Joel Kim Booster announced his engagement to John-Michael Sudsina in a sweet post of romantic photos over the weekend.

"Taking to social media on Saturday, the 36-year-old 'Fire Island' actor shared the news while posting a carousel of images," reported UK newspaper the Daily Mail.

"The proposal was captured in a photo that showed Booster on bended knee as he popped the question on a boat in Korea," the Mail added.

"Big time Korea DUMP," Booster captioned the post. "Keep scrolling for a special surprise ✨".

"Very much in love," Booster posted. "Very happy.

"No matter where I am, he's my home."

Booster also took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the news.

"Vacation boyfriend --> Vacation husband," Booster wrote in the post. "Try to be normal about this."

The news prompted a flood of well wishes. Felicitations poured in from celebrity friends, "including Amber Ruffin, who wrote, 'Congrats to the magazine that gets to profile the wedding,'" People Magazine recounted.

"Larry Owens commented, '😭😭😭🥰🥰🥰🥰 CONGRATS YOU TWO !!!!' while Quinta Brunson wrote, 'Congrats Joel!,'" People went on to add.

Booster had shared how the two met "in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, which he referred to as 'gay Disneyland,'" an anecdote Booster related in June "on Jesse Tyler Ferguson's 'Dinner's on Me' podcast," the magazine recalled.

Saying that they had met "through mutual friends," Booster said that "I took him home and we, ya know, watched the sunrise together on the beach and talked after we hooked up."

Booster also spoke about his mother being conflicted when it came to the romance, telling Ferguson that when he would broach the subject of marrying Sudsina, "She changes the subject a little bit."

"I think she loves him and loves that I'm happy," Booster continued, "and I think like the Republican conservative in her is like, maybe that's a step too far."

The comedian added that he wasn't sure "if she would be at our wedding or not. And again, I don't need her to and it doesn't hurt me."
