House Rep. George Santos Defends His House of Lies on Steve Bannon's 'War Room' Podcast

Everyone seems to know newly-elected House Rep. George Santos is a liar and should resign but him.

Appearing on former Breitbert editor and Trump strategist Steve Bannon's podcast, Santos told Rep. Matt Gaetz that reports about his laundry list of lies have been "media nonsense," the Daily Mail reported. He also clarified that he would not resign from Congress, despite calls from fellow Republicans to do so.

"I came here to serve the people, not politicians and party leaders, and I'm going to do just that," Santos told Gaetz, who was guest hosting Bannon's "War Room" podcast.

Addressing questions about where the $700,000 came from that he lent his campaign, Santos responded: "Well, I'll tell you where it didn't come from. It didn't come from China, Ukraine, or Burisma. How about that?"

Goading him on, Gaetz responded: "Well, that is an answer."

Is it though?

Continuing, Santos insisted that he has "lived an honest life" and has "never been accused, sued of any bad doings." Until now of course.

Santos has been caught lying about virtually everything – from his background as a Goldman Sachs employee, to his mother dying in 9/11 to being half Black and having a brain tumor. The list goes on, and Santos said he plans to go on holding his seat in office until he is voted out.

After all, "embellishing" a resume isn't a "crime," said Gaetz, defending Santos. "If we didn't seat people on committees who embellish their resume running for Congress, we probably wouldn't be able to make quorum in any of those committees."

Whatever committee assignments he is given, Santos said he would work hard to prove everyone wrong about his checkered past.

"Whatever committee I'm given, whether it's, I don't know, Science and Technology, or Education and Labor, or whatever committee is thrown my way, I will deliver 110% because that is what I know how to do. I am going to outwork any of the pundits and talking heads that are out there saying that I should resign, that I'm unfit for office. The reality is and the case and point here being is, I'm a work horse, I've worked my whole life, I'm the kid who came from a basement apartment," said Santos.

Whether Santos is indeed a "work horse" and a "kid who came from a basement apartment" has not been verified.
