Neil Patrick Harris Posts to Insta from Husband's Bedside Following 7-Hour Surgery

Neil Patrick Harris was at the bedside of his husband, celebrity chef David Burtka, following Burtka's seven-plus hour of spinal surgery, People Magazine reports.

Harris - the star of long-running TV comedy "How I Met Your Mother" and a costar in HBO Max's current sensation, "It's A Sin" - documented the moment with sweet and funny posts to Instagram.

"David is recovering from spinal surgery. It was fairly intensive, took over seven hours, but he's in good spirits and doing well," Harris posted. "Thankfully, all went according to plan. Whew..!" the Instagram post went on to say. "Two thumbs up. I love you, @dbelicious. Your strength inspires me."

Worried fans posted anxious queries in response to ask what had happened. Harris disclosed that the surgery had been planned in advance and was due to "three disks being d–ks," reported .

Harris also posted a video in which his still-drowsy husband declared his neck brace a fashion accessory, before summoning a nurse for a dose of painkiller.

Burtka got in on the act himself the following day, People noted, posting, "I am all good and already recovering. Oxy, Tylenol and muscle relaxers are helping immensely. Go to @nph to see the video of me going in and out of a morphine high. It's quite entertaining."

"Many stars flooded the comments section of both Burtka's and Harris' posts and wished the chef a speedy recovery, including Reese Witherspoon, Christina Hendricks and Ross Matthews," People noted.
