Orlando's Parliament House Building to be Demolished

The building that housed popular Orlando gay resort and nightclub the Parliament House, which recently shuttered after 45 years, is scheduled for demolition, reports local news site Click Orlando.com.

The building had been sold last March, Click Orlando.com said, with the new owners acquiring the property for just over $300,000. The property itself is valued at $2.6 million.

The Parliament House closed Nov. 2 after failing to secure a funding deal for renovations. The business owners announced the closure at the end of last month, as EDGE reported at the time.

But the club's owners also vowed to return. "Although we are sad for the loss, we are even more excited for our future!" a message at the Parliament house Facebook page said. "Once you hear what we have planned, we think you'll be just as excited."

The Parliament House Facebook page says the business is "temporarily closed," and a photo promises, "See you soon."
