Paul Sousa, a 21-year-old Northeastern student and one of the lead organizers of last month's Join the Impact protest against Proposition 8 at Boston City Hall, is hoping to rally the LGBT grassroots to bring about an historic first: the appointment of an openly gay person to President-Elect Barack Obama's cabinet.

The Harvard Business Review (<I>HBR</I>), which reaches an elite readership of corporate CEOs and high-level executives, published a case study in its December issue highlighting the issues that companies face when an employee announces plans to change his or her gender.
AIDS org. gets grant to study disparities in healthcare for gay men of color
Cambridge Cares About AIDS has been awarded a $70,000 grant by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation to help the organization address the disparities in health care for HIV positive gay men of color.
Mr. Sanchez goes to Washington
Transgender activist Diego Sanchez has been appointed to the position of legislative assistant to Congressman Barney Frank in Washington, D.C. He will be the first openly transgender person to work in a congressional office in Washington.
Alleged murderer in Yakovleff case to be arraigned this afternoon
Steven Odegard, the Dorchester man charged with murdering 20-year-old Daniel Yakovleff <link|http://www.baywindows.com/index.php?ch=news&sc=glbt&sc3=&id=55259|last January>, turned himself into Boston Police the evening of Dec. 16 and is expected to be arraigned at 2 p.m. on Dec. 17.
LGBT theater troupe portrays teen troubles
